Irregular Division of Notes
Breaking the grid: When standard divisions are not enough.
What does "Irregular" mean?
In standard music notation, notes are usually divided by two (1 Quarter = 2 Eighths). However, we often want to divide a beat into 3, 5, 7, or other numbers of equal parts. These are called Irregular Divisions or Special Value Groups (Tuplets).
